CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the results of the Baseball preseason poll on Wednesday afternoon with the Panthers finishing seventh.
 
Hanover landed seventh with 34 points while Franklin claimed the top spot with 79 points and seven first place votes. Transylvania finished second with 70 points and two first place nods followed by Anderson with 63 points and one first place vote.
 
Hanover also landed four on the student-athletes to watch list including the 2023 Pitcher of the Year, senior Marcus Goodpaster (Indianapolis, Ind.). Senior Alex Christie (Greenwood, Ind.), senior Matthew Alter (Indianapolis, Ind.) and junior Jake Danneman (Edgewood, Ky.) also claimed the honor.
 
Hanover is set to open the 2024 campaign with a trip to Piedmont on Friday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 25.
