John Girard (Richmond, Ky.) hurls an 11 strikeout victory on Friday morning as the Panthers (5-2 overall) take down Bridgewater as part of the Ripken Experience, 4-0.
ON THE MOUND
Girard pitched a complete game recording a no-hitter through eight and a third innings. He added 11 K's and allowed just one walk.
AT THE DISH
Senior
Eric Roudebush (New Palestine, Ind.) led the Blue and Red charting a game-high three RBI while senior
Connor Farnsley (Jeffersonville, Ind.) added one RBI. Senior
Alex Christie (Greenwood, Ind.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Roudebush scored the Panthers first run in the top of the first inning as he connected for a sacrifice fly to center field that scored junior
Jake Danneman (Edgewood, Ky.), 1-0.
The senior did it again in the top of the third inning this time with a single up the middle that plated Christie, 2-0. The innings final run came from the bat of Farnsley who doubled to left field.
The last run of the contest was recorded in the fifth inning as Roudebush hit a hard ground ball to second base, scoring Danneman en route to the 4-0 victory.
Hanover returns the diamond on Friday, March 8 when they travel to Belhaven (Miss.).
