Panther Win Streak Moves to 11 Straight

HANOVER, Ind. – The Panther (11-0 overall) win streak continues as they sweep the Hanover Invitational over the weekend. Hanover posted a perfect 4-0 mark.
 
Senior Jessie Stenger (St. Leon, Ind.) led the Blue and Red with a combined 35 kills averaging 2.19 kill per set. Senior Maggie Schweitzer 9Shelbyville, Ind.) dished out 71 assists while dominating from the service line with 23 service aces.
 
As a unit, Hanover posted a .216 hitting percentage with 181 kills.
 
The opening match saw Hanover knock off Blackburn 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 24-26, 25-18) paced by junior Elliot Mays (Jeffersonville, Ind.) with 10 kills. Freshman Nicole Stratford (Lanesville, Ind.) added eight kills.
 
In the nightcap on Friday, Hanover defeated Rhodes 3-1 (25-21, 25-12, 22-25, 25-21). As a unit, the Panthers recorded a game-high 45 kills for a .236 hitting percentage. Mays tallied a team-high 14 kills.
 
On Saturday the winning streak continued as Hanover knocked off previous unbeaten Trine 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-22, 25-15). Maggie Schweitzer provided the momentum as she controlled play from the service line with 10 aces. She also dished out 20 assists.
 
The final match of the 2024 Invitational saw Hanover defeat Kenyon 3-1 (25-14, 25-17, 21-25, 25-14). Stenger found her groove late into the contest tallying a team-best 12 kills while teammate Stratford added 10 kills.
 
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 18 when they play host to Asbury at 7:00 PM.
