GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Panthers hit the road for the DePauw Invitational over the weekend at the Blackstock Courts.
Hanover was led by freshman
Annamarie Stogsdill (Nineveh, Ind.) at no. 4 singles defeating the opponent from Rose-Hulman in dramatic fashion 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 10-7. She surrendered her second match to DePauw 6-3, 6-1.
At no. 2 doubles, Stogsdill teamed up with freshman
Cami Crist (Noblesville, Ind.) to defeat Anderson 8-6. They surrendered their second match with DePauw 8-2.
Freshman
Madelyn Santner (Bloomington, Ind.) competed at no. 1 singles claiming her consolation match 6-2, 6-1 over the competitor from Transylvania.
Sophomore Haily Vandeventer (Bloomington, Ind.) found success at no. 3 singles defeating Rose-Hulman in nail-biting fashion 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
In no. 6 singles, freshman
Drew Hubbard (Seymour, Ind.) claimed a win over Anderson's opponent 6-2, 7-5.
Senior
Lauren Hale (Crawfordsville, Ind.) and Hubbard competed at no. 3 doubles defeating the Earlham duo for the 8-2 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 when they compete as part of the ITA Regionals hosted by Kalamazoo College.
