Anderson, IN - The Panthers played their final game of the 2025 regular season campaign today at Anderson University (Ravens). Hanover stood 4-2-2 in HCAC play heading into tonight's match-up, as did the Ravens, making this a must win on both sides [for conference seeding].
HC played an aggressive first half defensively, not allowing a single shot on frame, and only giving the Ravens one opportunity from the corner. They were able to match their own intensity on the offensive side of the ball as well, tallying seven first half shots with three on cage. The Panthers also saw four attempts from the corners.
In the second half of action the Panthers maintained their defensive intensity, once again, allowing zero shots on frame. Senior goalkeeper
Emma Patterson commanded the defense for all ninety minutes, while senior defender
Erin Terry, sophomore defender
Lilian Muhlenkamp, and freshman defender
Anna Black anchored the defense for all ninety minutes [each] for the third straight game as a trio.
Junior midfielder
Kaleigh Schirmer was the game's lone goal scorer this evening, beating the keeper (unassisted) in the seventy-first minute to deliver the game winning goal. Schirmer also lead the team in shots with four, along side sophomore forward
Lilly Clark.
Hanover finishes the regular season 5-2-2 in HCAC play and has secured a spot in the HCAC post-season tournament as the number four seed for a chance to compete for the the HCAC Championship and a bid to the 2025 NCAA DIII women's national championship tournament.
