Hanover Dominates Rose-Hulman with Strong First Quarter Performance

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Panthers (2-2 overall, 1-0 HCAC) throttled the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers on Saturday afternoon, using 37 first half points to claim the 44-10 victory.

Junior Eian Roudebush had a fantastic day under center, throwing for a game-high 238 yards with three touchdowns. He also added 16 yards on the ground and a rushing score.
 
Sophomore Jack Pennington appeared to be the top target for Roudebush, collecting 113 yards on eight targets. Junior Curbrian Shelby added 68 yards receiving and a touchdown.
 
Senior Ashton Schuetter led a stout defense that held Rose-Hulman to just 151 yards of offense, with nine stops and a tackle for loss. Sophomore Brian Wall recorded eight stops, six of which were solo.
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Hanover wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, piloting a methodical nine-play, 79-yard drive that culminated in quarterback Eian Roudebush connecting with Curbrian Shelby for a 29-yard touchdown pass at the 11:01 mark. Senior Clint Hearne's successful extra point gave the Panthers an early 7-0 lead.
The Panthers continued their offensive onslaught just minutes later when junior Don Dunning found the end zone on a six-yard run, capping a quick three-play, 69-yard drive that took just 1:32 off the clock.
Hanover's defense maintained pressure on Rose-Hulman, and the Panthers' offense capitalized again at the 5:00 mark when Roudebush showcased his dual-threat capabilities with an 11-yard touchdown run. This 2-play, 13-yard drive extended the difference to 20-3.
 
Rose-Hulman managed to get on the board before the quarter ended with a 28-yard field goal.
 
Hanover continued to build on their lead throughout the game. By halftime, the Panthers had extended their advantage to 37-3, demonstrating complete domination.
 
The Panthers' offense featured several key playmakers, including quarterback Eian Roudebush, who contributed both through the air and on the ground. Running backs Don Dunning and sophomore Blaik Nation also made significant contributions, with Nation breaking off a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter.
 
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they hit the road for a crucial HCAC match-up at Mt. St. Joseph.
