HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (16-10 overall, 4-3 HCAC) celebrated Senior Day, handing the Earlham Quakers their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss of the 2025 season 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23).

The Panthers finished with double-figure kills, led by junior
Abbey McCoy with a game-high 19. She posted a .373 hitting percentage on 51 total attempts.
Senior
Elliot Mays was nipping at her heels with 18 kills and a .226 hitting percentage.
Rounding out the double-digit club was senior
Kelsey Waggoner with 12 kills on 43 attempts.
Sophomore
Madison Schicker added 29 digs with three assists, while Waggoner and sophomore
Brooke Gervers added 19 digs apiece.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover found themselves trailing 10-7 in the opening set but refused to surrender the momentum. The senior duo of Mays and Waggoner pulled the Panthers within 14-13 when McCoy placed a monster kill that knotted the score 15-15.
Moments later, McCoy found a trio of kills that had Collier Arena erupting. Mays secured the set one win with an assist from Gervers.
With the sets locked at 1-1, the Panthers erupted in set three, scoring five straight points off the serve of Schicker. Panthers played the set with a slight advantage, when a four-point swing pushed Earlham on top 13-12. The momentum shift came midway through set three as Gervers paced a five-point rally capped by a Mays kill, 18-14.
Earlham made one final push, tying the contest at 23-23, but McCoy remained red hot on the attack, securing the set three win, 25-23. Hanover had 16 kills, hitting .212 in the set.
The final set looked like it would fall in favor of the Quakers early, but Hanover was determined to defend their home turf. Mays and McCoy helped stage a four-point comeback, securing a series of kills that saw them on top 13-12.
Freshman
Brooklyn Borden stepped up big for the Panthers at the service line, landing a service ace that put Hanover in front 16-15. But Earlham flipped the script 19-16, forcing the Panthers on their heels.
Hanover responded in a major way with Waggoner and McCoy flexing their muscles. Mays got the final word as Hanover completed the Senior Day win.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 5 when they hit the road for Berea. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
