HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (19-10 overall) dominated the Spartans of Manchester on Wednesday evening in the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, 3-1 (25-11, 25-14, 22-25, 25-15).

Madison Schicker surpassed 1,000 career digs, collecting 17 in the contest for a career total of 1,012. Senior
Elliot Mays added 10 kills with a service ace and a block.

Maddie Robertson dominated at the net with a .400 hitting percentage.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover wasted no time, surging ahead 4-0 in set one off the serve of Waggoner. Sophomore
Brooke Gervers also found success at the service line as she served five straight Panther points, pushing the difference to 13-5. The lead reached double digits off a McCoy kill, who later secured the 25-11 victory.
The momentum carried into set two as Gervers once again dominated at the service line, propelling HC in front 5-1. Hanover finished the set with 11 kills and a match-high .385 hitting percentage for a 25-14 win.
The final set saw Schicker serve up a commanding lead for the Blue and Red. She rattled off six straight points with kills from McCoy and junior
Megan Vogel en route to a 23-11 advantage. The rest was history with Hanover winning 25-15.
