Mount Berry, GA - The Hanover College men's basketball team traveled to Berry College today to take on the Vikings. Hanover entered the contest coming off a 79-66 victory over Asbury with an overall record of 2-1.
In the first half Hanover had a slight edge over Berry, holding a one point lead at 35-34. Both teams shot 40% from behind the arc, but the Panthers outpaced Berry in total shooting percentage by ten percent, shooting almost 52% from the field.
The second half was where the Panthers went on to make their big push. Offensively, HC upped the anty on all fronts, shooting 62% from the field, 66% from three, and 80% from the charity stripe. Defensively, they locked in and forced the Vikings into a worse shooting performance as they only made 36% of their shots from the field, and their three-point percentage plummeted to just 20%.
The Panthers went on to win the contest at 82-65, with shooting splits of 56% (FG), 50% (3PT), and 72% from the line. Hanover totaled 40 rebounds as a team, 13 assists, and four steals.

Sophomore center
Malachi McNair posted a career best 20 rebounds, along with 13 points on 100% shooting from the field.
Junior guards Cj Walls and
William Herald, along with sophomore forward
Sheldon Gatlin were also among the teams leading scorers with 13 points a piece. Herald and Gatlin were also very efficient with their shooting, Herald shot five of six from the field and three of four form behind the arc, and Gatlin shot six of eight from the floor.
Junior guard
Cam Freeman lead HC with five assists, and tagged on eight points with a block and a steal as well.
Hanover aims to keep things rolling as they still have two road games before their return to the Baylor Family Court in Collier Arena, starting on Monday at Maryville College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00PM EST.
