Hanover, IN (Collier Arena) - The Hanover College men's basketball team earned their third conference win in a victory over the Anderson University Ravens today, at home. Hanover entered the contest at 5-3 overall with an HCAC record of 2-1.
HC controlled the contest from start to finish and out played the ravens on both sides of the ball. The Panthers won the first half 40 to 33, shot 54.5% from behind the arc (6-11), and totaled 24 rebounds. The Panthers also created four turnovers off steals and netted five fast break points.
Junior guard Cj Walls was the first half spark for Hanover with 15 points and three assists on three made three-pointers through seventeen and a half minutes.
In the second half, the Panthers dialed up their intensity and kept the Ravens on their heels. Hanover increased their overall shooting efficiency from 39% in the first to 58.6% in the second, and shot a parallel 54.5% from the three (6-11). HC avoided any second half turnovers, and forced AU in to 16 of them.
The Panthers finished the game shooting 48.4% overall and 12 of 22 for 54.5% from behind the arc. They also won the turnover battle seven to 24, had six more second chance points, and seven more points in transition than the Ravens. Hanover out rebounded AU 47 to 28, and doubled Anderson's 11 assists with 22.
Sophomore
Sheldon Gatlin lead the Panthers in scoring tonight with 24 points on nine of ten shooting from the floor, including five made threes. Gatlin also stated seven rebounds in just 24 minutes of action.

Malachi McNair put up 14 points and 11 rebounds while manning the middle.
Hanover moves to 6-3 on the year ahead of their next match-up against Wisconsin-Platteville in the Wooster Tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:00PM on Monday, December 29th.
