Beloit, Wisconsin - The Panthers took to the road for their first of three winter-break games and took down the Buccaneers of Beloit College in a 10-4 victory.
Hanover's offensive unit shared the wealth all day long and saw senior attackman
Alex Kleinhelter, the junior attackmen pair of
Colin O'Brien &
Ethan Abdoo, and senior defenseman
Scott Dues tally 2 points each. Senior midfielder
Owen Parker, freshman midfielder
Kasey Hospelhorn, freshman attackman
Dean Henderson, and sophomore midfielder
Gabe Hetrick all were also able to contribute to point column, helping empower HC's momentum.
Owen Parker also managed to lead the team in ground-balls with 11 on the day.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Panthers were lead in the first half by senior goalkeeper
Lance Guttormson. Guttormson saw 27 shots in the first half of action, and only allowed 1 goal while managing to make 8 saves. Freshman defenseman
Leonard Hughes lead the poles in caused-turnovers with 3, and in ground-balls by picking up 5 off the turf.
The Panthers face-off unit managed to hold their own today, as freshman and senior midfielders
Kasey Hospelhorn (8/16) and
Owen Parker (1-2) both went 50% at the X.
Hanover closed out the game with junior goalkeeper Mattew Hillard between the pipes. Hillard managed 11 saves and only allowed 3 goals on 31 shots in route to a 10-4 victory over the Buccaneers.
Now sitting at 2-1 on the season, the Panthers aim to keep the tide rolling as they get one day of rest back home before loading the bus again for North Carolina. Out East, Hanover will be taking on Warren Wilson (Asheville, NC) and Brevard College (Brevard, NC) within a three-day span.
