NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Sophomore
Cam Freeman (Indianapolis, Ind.) goes coast-to-coast to propel the Panthers (14-8 overall, 10-5 HCAC) past Manchester in dramatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, 71-70.
The story of this contest came in the second half as Hanover entered it leading Manchester, 35-30. Sophomore
CJ Walls (Louisville, Ky.) was able to push the difference to 47-38 scoring five straight points including a three-pointer at the 15 minute mark. He later pushed the difference to double-digits with a layup. Freshman
Jack Miller (Madison, Ind.) helped Hanover secure their largest lead of 63-50 off a three-pointer.
Manchester refused to let the Panthers spoil Senior Day as they used a 9-0 run to cut the difference to 69-68 with just 1:14 remaining. The Spartans claimed their first lead of the half with 14 seconds to play. Many felt this was the final dagger for the Blue and Red as the Spartans were able to draw up a play that got them to the rim. However, Freeman had other things in mind as he used his quickness to beat Manchester down the floor and sink the fastbreak layup claiming the win with seven seconds remaining, 71-70.
