DECATUR, Ill. – The Hanover Panthers (4-9 overall) wrapped up the weekend taking on the host Millikin. The Blue and Red fell in the non-conference contest 6-3.
ON THE MOUND
Freshman
Dylan Lloyd (Colerain, Ohio) pitched three and two third innings with three strikeouts. The Panther starter surrendered six runs on five hits.
Freshman
Wyatt Colvin (Prospect, Ky.) closed out the contest, throwing four innings with two strikeouts.
AT THE PLATE
Hanover surged ahead in the top of the fourth inning scoring three runs on one hit. Junior
Josh Simpson (Bardstown, Ky.) scored the game's first run with an RBI single to right field. Senior
David Newbanks (New Albany, Ind.) added another run later in the inning with a bases-loaded walk. The final run came from the bat of junior
Owen Boyce (Kennesaw, Ga.) who connected for a sacrifice fly to center field, 3-0.
However, Millikin plated six runs on four hits in the bottom half of the inning for the 6-3 win.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 22, when they travel to Franklin to open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
