HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover (14-21 overall, 10-9 HCAC) swept Senior Day on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Beavers of Bluffton 6-4, 6-3.
GAME ONE

Hanover claimed the early lead as senior
Sam Perkins (Louisville, Ky.) used plate discipline to score senior
David Newbanks (New Albany, Ind.).
Bluffton scored two runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth inning for a 3-1 advantage.
Hanover responded with a five run seventh inning to claim the game one win. Fifth year

Josh Simpson (Bardstown, Ky.) and sophomore
Nickey Gutzwiller (Cincinnati, Ohio).
ON THE MOUND

John Girard (Richmond, Ky.) got the start throwing eight complete innings with six strikeouts.
Simpson collected the save, pitching one inning of relief.
GAME TWO
AT THE PLATE
Senior
Reid Douglas (Rossville, Ind.) scored the first run connecting for a RBI triple in the bottom of the first inning.
Bluffton responded using a one run second inning and a one run fourth inning for the 2-1 difference.
Hanover got the final say as Gutzwiller and Perkins both tallied RBI in the bottom of the eighth inning for the 6-3 win.
