HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers (1-2 overall) kick off Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday with a trip to Rose-Hulman.
LAST MEETING:
Hanover claimed the 2025 match-up within the confines of Alumni Stadium by a score of 37-16.
Junior
Eian Roudebush led the attack, throwing for a game-high 223 yards and two touchdowns on 24 completions. He also tallied 69 yards rushing and a score.
Sophomore
Brian Wall dominated on defense, collecting a team-high eight tackles with six solo stops. Wall also had an interception and two pass breakups.
As a unit, the Panthers had an impressive 443 yards of offense, including 213 rushing yards to Rose-Hulman's 35.
A LOOK BACK:
The all-time series between the two teams is knotted at 37-37-2. The last road win for the Blue and Red came in 2019 with Hanover running past Rose-Hulman, 42-13.
Hanover had a dominant performance, rushing for a game-high 241 yards and three touchdowns, while throwing for 192 yards and three more scores.
HCAC STATS:
The Panther punishers lead the league on defense, ranking first in fewest touchdowns allowed (7), and fewest points given up (62), the next best is Anderson, allowing 81.
Junior
Ben Lafferty, after a strong performance last week, was named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week. The junior blocked a crucial field goal as time expired.
Hanover offensively ranks second among the HCAC in rushing yards (283), averaging 94.3 yards per game. They currently sit third in passing yards per game, averaging 173.0.
ROSE-HULMAN ON PAPER:
The Fightin' Engineers rank fifth defensively in yards allowed (1,265), and fifth in yards per game (421.7).
They sit second in the fewest touchdowns allowed (9) and the fewest passing yards (620).
Rose-Hulman is seventh in rushing yards allowed (645).
Jay Smith paces the offense for Rose-Hulman, leading the league in rushing yards per game (72.7), total yards (218), and attempts (77).
Austin Porter leads the special teams effort, ranking second in kick return average (23.0) and total yards (138).
