KOKOMO, Ind – The no. 4 seed Hanover Panthers traveled to Kokomo, Ind. for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament to take on no. 5 seed Anderson. The Panthers surrendered the contest in the ninth inning 7-6.
AT THE PLATE
Freshman
Kadin Bush (New Albany, IN) started the scoring in the second inning with an RBI single. Junior
Ben Morwick (New Palestine, IN) added to the lead getting two more runs across reaching on a Anderson miscue.
The Panthers stayed quiet till the sixth inning when Senior
Josh Simpson (Bardstown, KY) hit a no doubt homerun to left. Freshman duo
Jack Shaeffer (West Lafayette, IN) and
Michael Kirk (Loveland, IN) added a pair of runs in the seventh inning before Anderson used a four run ninth to secure the win.
ON THE BUMP
Sophomore
Wyatt Colvin (Prospect, KY) got handed the game ball lasting eight and two thirds innings allowing only five earned runs.
The Panthers return to Kokomo Municipal Stadium on Friday at 10:00 AM to take on Franklin College in an elimination game.
