KOKOMO, Ind. – No. 4 seed Hanover took on the no. 6 seed Franklin in the second day of the HCAC tournament, coming up big in extra innings with a four run 10 th to secure the 5-1 win.
AT THE DISH
The Panthers got on the board right away with Senior
Josh Simpson (Bardstown, Ky) getting the first run across in the top of the first inning, 1-0.
In the tenth, the offense exploded with freshman
Jack Shaeffer (West Lafayette, IN) getting the party started, hitting a no doubt solo shot to left. Freshman
Theo Kramer (Indianapolis, IN) came into pinch hit providing a clutch RBI to propel Hanover to victory.
ON THE MOUND
Senior
John Girard (Richmond, KY) got the start dominating for 10 full innings allowing just one run while scattering eight hits and striking out four.
