HANOVER v CAPITAL
BEXLEY, Ohio- Hanover bounced back in dominant fashion Saturday morning, sweeping Capital 3-0 to wrap up the second tournament of the year. The Panthers controlled the match from start to finish, winning 25-12, 25-14, 25-15 to improve to 5-3 on the season.
Match Highlights
Hanover put together one of its strongest offensive performances of the season, finishing with 47 kills on 106 attacks and a .358 hitting percentage. Capital was held to just 20 kills and a .127 hitting percentage. The Panthers also dominated at the service line with 11 aces to Capital's one.
Abbey McCoy led the Panthers with 11 kills while hitting an impressive .407. Ryleigh Plunkitt added 10 kills on .350 hitting and led Hanover with four aces, while Molly Welborn contributed seven kills and a block.
The setters shared the offensive workload, with Megan Vogel recording 16 assists and Brooke Gervers adding 15. Gervers also contributed two aces and eight digs. Defensively, Madison Schicker led the Panthers with 13 digs, while McCoy added seven and Gervers eight.
Hanover's offense was especially impressive in the opening and closing sets. The Panthers hit .447 in the first set and .441 in the third, committing just three combined errors across those two sets.
