Box Score

HANOVER, Ind. – In a rematch of the 2016 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, the Hanover women's tennis avenged the loss with a home victory over Rose-Hulman Saturday afternoon, 6-3.

Hanover (2-1, 2-0 HCAC) jumped out to an early lead, taking two of the three doubles matches. Junior Susie Winterheimer (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Meghan Farrell (Indianapolis, Ind.) cruised to an 8-0 victory in the No. 3 spot.

Also picking up a win in doubles play were sophomore Cami Jones (Richmond, Ind.) and freshman Haley Parker (Leo, Ind.). The duo took the first three games en route to an 8-5 decision in the second slot.

The Panthers earned a point on the first three singles matches to finish, securing the overall victory with their fifth point.

Freshman Mia Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.) picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win in her first official collegiate match, as she competed in the No. 6 spot. Classmate Addison Laker (Indianapolis, Ind.) also recorded her first singles victory at HC, taking the fifth spot, 6-0, 6-2.

Parker became the third freshman to earn a straight-set singles victory, taking the No. 4 slot at 6-3, 6-3. She improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC as a solo competitor this season.

Winternheimer added a three-set win in the No. 2 singles spot. The junior dropped the first set, 6-4, but rallied to win the second set, 6-4, and the third-set tiebreaker, 10-7.

With the win, Hanover runs its regular season, conference-winning streak to 35. The Panthers have not fallen in HCAC regular season action since the 2012-13 season.

Hanover will look to stay unblemished in conference action as they travel to face Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30.
