Winternheimer, Farrell win 10th straight doubles match Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. – In a battle between two 10-plus win teams Sunday evening, it was Augustana that came out on top over the Hanover women's tennis team, 6-3.

The Panthers (11-4), who were opening their annual Winter Break Trip in Florida, earned two singles victories and one win in doubles play. With the victory, the Vikings improve to 11-1 on the season.

Junior Susie Winternheimer (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore Meghan Farrell (Indianapolis, Ind.) won their 10th straight doubles match, taking the No. 3 slot, 8-3. The duo has now won 13 of their 15 matches this season.

Picking up her 10th singles victory of the 2017-18 campaign was sophomore Haley Parker (Leo, Ind.). Parker, who has solely competed in the No. 4 spot. Parker earned a straight set, 6-4, 6-4 win Sunday.

Adding a three-set decision in the No. 6 slot was sophomore Caroline Millard (Cincinnati, Ohio), who won 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Millard has mainly been a doubles player for the Panthers this season, but Sunday's win improves her to 2-1 in 17-18.

The Blue and Red will continue their Sunshine state swing with two matches Monday, Feb. 26. Hanover will face Adrian (Mich.) and Concordia-Moorhead (Wis.) at noon and 6 p.m., respectively.
