HANOVER, Ind. – In a game of scoring runs, the Hanover women's lacrosse team outlasted Elmhurst (Ill.) at home Sunday, 13-11.

Sophomores Kinna Laymon (Fishers, Ind.) and Meg Finn (Newburg, Ind.) led a balanced scoring effort for the Panthers (4-2), who have won three straight, tallying four goals apiece. Finn did all of her damage in free position shots, going a perfect 4-for-4. Laymon led the team in scoring with five points, posting two goals and one assist in the first half and two scores over the final 30 minutes of play.

Adding four points, three goals and one assist, was senior Mallory Fogus (Grosse Ile, Mich.). Fogus, Laymon and Finn all scored during Hanover's 4-1 scoring spurt to start the game. The Blue Jays (3-2) rallied to score the next three goals, tying the contest at 4-all, with 15:35 remaining in the opening half. Laymon, Finn and sophomore Sarah Todd (Columbus, Ohio) added scores before the half and HC led 9-4 at the intermission.

The Blue and Red used a 15-10 advantage in total shots in the first half to jump out to the five-goal lead. Hanover also enjoyed a 12-7 edge in shots on goal. Elmhurst would record 13 of the 21 shots in the second half, giving each side with 23 for the game.

Finding itself down six goals, Elmhurst found the back of the net four times over a nine-minute span, closing the deficit to two, 13-11, with 3:31 left to play. Led by senior Abby Shroyer (Zionsville, Ind.), the Panther defense would not allow another Blue Jay shot on goal, securing the victory for HC.
