HANOVER, Ind. – On a day in which the Hanover women's lacrosse program honored its four soon-to-be-graduates, seniors Mallory Fogus (Grosse Ile, Mich.) and Abby Shroyer (Zionsville, Ind.), paced their respective ends of the field to a 19-8 victory over conference-rival Chatham (Pa.).

The offense was orchestrated by Fogus, who topped the Panther stat sheets with six goals on the day including four in the first half. The senior also led the squad with 10 draw controls and was second for HC with three caused turnovers.

Sophomore Kinna Laymon (Fishers, Ind.) added four goals and two assists, tying for second in total points. Her fellow six-point scorer, sophomore Rachel Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.), broke her own program record for assists in a game after posting five in the win. Davis added a second-half goal to push her to the half-dozen point mark for the contest.

Defensively, Shroyer paced the Blue and Red with five caused turnovers while coming in second for Hanover in groundballs (6) and draw controls (4). Classmate Cassidy Coates (Evansville, Ind.) posted one draw control, one caused turnover and one groundball in the Senior Day triumph. Her 15 groundballs on the season rank second amongst Panther defenders.

Hanover caused 16 of the 28 Cougar turnovers, with 10 different players recording a caused turnover.

The matchup started out as a back-and-forth affair and after a goal by Chatham (2-7, 0-4 ORLC) with 16:15 left in the half, the Panthers led by a score of 4-3. The Blue and Red responded with a four-goal run in just under nine minutes to lead the Cougars 8-3 with 7:24 left in the half. After each side scored two goals apiece following the Panther scoring spurt, the score was 10-5 at halftime.

At the start of the second half, Hanover struck first with sophomore Emma Boomershine (Louisville, Ky.) scoring her second goal of the game. This started a 7-1 run for HC that Chatham could not recover from, as they were outscored nine to two in the second half.

The Panther defense gave the Cougars fits all afternoon, as Blue and Red held them to just 17 shots to their 50, while also holding Chatham to 16-for-28 on clears.

Senior goalkeeper Amanda Mousa (Springboro, Ohio) finished her afternoon in the net with five saves, while adding five groundballs and a caused turnover.

Hanover, who is now 4-1 in ORLC play, will look to continue its strong start to the conference campaign when they travel to face Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14.
