Women's Tennis Wins Sixth Straight in Victory Over MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Hanover women's tennis team improved to 6-1 overall, 5-1 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 7-2 victory over Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday afternoon.

The Panthers left doubles action leading 2-1 as sophomore Maddie Shannon (Anderson, Ind.) and senior Lizzy Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.) teamed up at No. 1 doubles for the 8-2 victory, while teammates junior Haley Parker (Leo, Ind.) and senior Mia Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.) won No. 2 doubles, 8-4.

Lizzy Katzenberger carried the momentum into singles action as she won No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-0. Mia Katzenberger would also get a singles victory as she won No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-0, while teammate Parker won No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

Rounding out the Blue and Red performance was Shannon and sophomore Sidney Goedeker (Charlestown, Ind.). Shannon claimed No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-1 while Goedeker took down No. 6 singles in a thrilling tie breaker set 6-2, 1-6, 10-6.

Hanover returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 10 as they play host to Transylvania at 4 p.m.
