HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers are set to welcome Defiance as part of a non-conference doubleheader at Kops-Bedel Stadium. First pitch is slated for 2:00 PM.
HANOVER GAME NOTES:
- The Panthers enter the weekend at 0-3 overall after dropping a pair of tough non-conference match-ups. The season opener saw the Blue and Red fall to Wittenberg 4-3 before dropping a doubleheader with Hope.
- Senior
Brittney Ralston (Lexington, Ind.) paced the Panthers as her success at the plate earned her HCAC Hitter of the Week honors. The senior went 7-for-9 with five RBI and a double. She finished the week with a .778 hitting percentage.
- In the circle, senior
Lily Beurman (Evansville, Ind.) made two appearances pitching 15 complete innings. She recorded 10 strikeouts and posted a 2.80 ERA.
- As a unit, the Panthers tallied 13 runs on 25 hits for a .305 batting average. They added 12 RBI while recording two stolen bases.
DEFIANCE GAME NOTES:
- The Yellow Jackets opened the season at Wittenberg moving to 0-1-1 overall after dropping game one, 7-6.
- Marissa Roberts led Defiance in the series going 3-for-7 with two runs scored and an RBI. She posted a team-leading .429 batting average.
- In the circle, Taylor Biggs claimed a team-best two appearances as she threw six complete innings surrendering two runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
