Box Score 2 HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover softball team claimed a split with Franklin on Wednesday evening. Senior
Lily Beurman (Evansville, Ind.) picked up the game one victory in the circle pitching a complete game shutout.
GAME ONE
The Panthers surged ahead early as junior
Kiley Shedron (Cloverdale, Ind.) delivered an RBI single to right center in the top of the second inning. Beurman set the stage as she drew a walk before advancing to second off the bat of sophomore
Nikki Bridgers (Florence, Ky.). Shedron did the rest providing the hit that plated Beurman, 1-0.
Franklin looked to strike in the bottom of the fourth inning as they loaded the bases with one out but Beurman had other things in mind retiring the side from the circle.
Beurman continued her impressive afternoon getting it done at the dish for the Blue and Red. The senior provided an RBI single to center field in the top of the seventh inning that plated the final run of the contest, 2-0.
Beurman claimed the win pitching a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts.
GAME TWO
Franklin dominated early in game two using a four run first inning and a seven run second inning to capture the 11-0 lead. However, Hanover responded in the top of the third inning.

Brittney Ralston (Lexington, Ind.) delivered the first blow as she hit a triple to center field that scored senior
Rachel Cox (Indianapolis, Ind.), senior
Mackenzie Smith (Jeffersonville, Ind.), and sophomore
Kensie Bradley (Greenfield, Ind.). The final run of the inning would come off the bat of sophomore
Kendra Hutchison (Lafayette, Ind.) who connected on a sacrifice fly to right field, 11-4.
Hanover tacked on four more runs in the top of the fourth inning before Franklin used a 12 run outburst to capture the split, 28-8.
