Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Hanover opened the 2021 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference season on Saturday as they defeated Rose-Hulman 5-4.
 
Hanover was led by freshman Linde Meerpoel (Wolvertem, Belgium) and sophomore Isabelle Roberts (Brownsburg, Ind.) sweeping their matches.
 
The Panthers opened the afternoon posting a 2-1 mark in doubles action as the team of Roberts and sophomore Rachel Pinnick (Franklin, Ind.) won their match 8-5 before teammates freshman Lyla Waskom (Scottsburg, Ind.) and Meerpoel claimed no. 3 doubles 8-5.
 
In singles action, Meerpoel claimed. The 6-2, 6-0 victory at no. 2 singles, while teammate Roberts captured no. 3 singles 6-1, 6-3.
 
Pinnick battled tough at no. 4 singles falling by way of tie breaker 6-1, 3-6 (10-5).
 
Hanover's final victory came at no. 5 singles as Cassie Froedge won her match 6-2, 6-2.
 
The Blue and Red return to action on Sunday, Sept. 12 taking on Oakland City. First serve is set for 1:00 PM.
