Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – Senior
Milah Young (Granger, Ind.) netted a career-high eight goals to pace the Panthers on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action against Bethel, the Panthers dropped the contest 19-12.
The senior led the team with 11 shots, eight of which landed on frame.
The Hanover women's lacrosse team got a quick start on Saturday afternoon jumping out to the 2-0 lead getting strikes from Young and sophomore
Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.).
They continued to pelt the net as Young picked up her second goal of the afternoon at the 10:00 minute mark, giving HC the 3-1 advantage. However, Bethel responded taking the 5-3 lead at the end of the first period.
The second frame saw the Pilots extend their difference before
Masi McNally-Henriksen dealt her second goal to pull Hanover within 6-4. Young netted a hat trick at the 11:39 mark when a Bethel scoring frenzy pushed the Pilots on top 11-5.
The second half would see Young find the back of the net for the fourth time as she successfully connected on a free position shot before delivering another blow to cut the difference to 13-7.
She would add three more goals, including two in the final period while teammate senior
Anne Breeding (Miamiaburg, Ohio) ripped back-to-back strikes in an attempt to pace a Panther comeback that ultimately fell unsuccessful as the Bethel offense never faltered claiming the non-conference victory.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 26 when they travel to Albion. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
