Anne Breeding (Miamisburg, Ohio) paced the Panther attack as she charted two Hanover goals in their non-conference contest with Southwestern. The Pirates claimed the win 16-5.
Southwestern used efficient offense to surge ahead 3-0 just moments into the opening stanza when sophomore
Mya Urba (Westfield, Ind.) fired off a shot that was saved by the keeper.
The Hanover offense continued to pressure frame as senior Britany Hernandez (Louisville, Ky.) ripped a strong attempt on net that fell unsuccessful. However, she would play a key role in a goal in the final minutes of the quarter as she connected with senior
Milah Young (Granger, Ind.) for the Panther strike, 5-1.
Breeding added the Panthers second goal with 4:12 to play as she hustled past the Pirate defense to send HC into the intermission trailing 7-2.
The second half would see Breeding add another goal and her 22nd of the season as she cut the deficit to 9-3. Young found the net with 9:44 to play in the contest rallying Hanover to the 13-4 difference.
The final Panther blow came from the stick of Hernandez as Southwestern secured the 16-5 victory.
