Box Score 2 TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers earned a split with Rose-Hulman on Thursday evening. Hanover claimed game one 4-1 before falling in extras 8-7.
GAME ONE
The Blue and Red set the stage in the first inning as they plated two runs following a double by junior
Katherine Dickinson (Francisco, Ind.) to send HC on top, 2-0.
Hanover tacked on a pair of insurance run in the top of the fourth inning as junior
Kendra Hutchison (Lafayette, Ind.) provided the RBI pushing HC on top 4-0.
Rose looked to rally in the seventh but fell unsuccessful as HC retired the side for the 4-1 victory.
GAME TWO
The Panthers found themselves on the wrong side of a 2-0 deficit when Dickinson delivered once more pulling HC within 2-1.
Junior
Lexi Garloch (Salem, Ind.) plated the game tying run in the top of the fifth inning scoring junior
Kensie Bradley (Greenfield, Ind.) on a wild pitch, 2-2.
However, the Fightin' Engineers used a rain delay homerun to reclaim the 3-2 advantage in the top of the sixth inning.
Freshman
Carson Kruse (Fort Branch, Ind.) refused to allow it to get out of control as she looked to stretch a single into a double before providing the game tying RBI.
The Panther would ultimately look for the win in extra innings before falling to Rose-Hulman in the ninth inning, 8-7.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, April 29 when they welcome Mt. St. Joseph. First pitch is set for 3:30 PM.
