TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Hanover women's track and field team competed as part of the Friday Night Spikes Meet on Friday evening at Rose-Hulman taking fifth in the seven team field.
The Panthers were led by senior
Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) in the shot put, winning the event with a school record toss of 13.07 meters. The toss also ranks 20
th among NCAA Division III competitors.
Senior
Zaleeya Martin (Shelbyville, Ind.) won the 60-meter dash with a race winning time of 7.85 seconds.
In the one mile, junior
Amberleigh Sorensen (Yorktown, Ind.) ran an impressive race taking a podium finish with a third place mark in a time of. 5:33.67.
Junior
Natalie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.97 seconds.
In the weight throw, senior
Lydia Lupinski (Zionsville, Ind.) turned in a sixth place finish with a throw of 13.25 meters while teammate junior
Aliza Boles (Lexington, Ind.) took sixth in the pole vault with a height of 2.48 meters.
Sophomore
Emma Litzelman (Plainfield, Ind.) took eighth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:09.01 while Martin finished ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.20 seconds.
Rounding out the meet for the Blue and Red was the 4x400-meter relay team of Sorensen, freshman
Adair Dooley (Crestview Hills, Ky.), Day, and junior Keli Brock (Mooresville, Ind.) taking eighth in a time of 4:33.41.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, Feb. 3 when they compete as part of the Tim Hreha Memorial Invite hosted by DePauw.
