CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Hanover women's track and field team hit the road for the MSJ Invitational on Saturday afternoon hosted by the Lions.
Hanover was led in the contest by the 4x200-meter relay team of junior
Natalie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.), sophomore
Emma Litzelman (Plainfield, Ind.), junior
Aliza Boles (Lexington, Ind.), and senior
Zaleeya Martin (Shelbyville, Ind.) who claimed the top spot in a time of 1:55.39.
Junior
Amberleigh Sorensen (Yorktown, Ind.) also turned in a first place finish as she won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.31.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Day, Litzelman, Sorensen and junior
Kelli Brock (Mooresville, Ind.) also captured a first place mark in a time of 4:33.38.
Martin ran a strong 60-meter dash taking second with a time of 7.89 seconds.
Day found success in the 60-meter hurdles as she took third in the event with a time of 9.81 seconds.
In the 800-meter run, Litzelman turned in a sixth place finish with a time of 2:38.91.
Teammates, freshman
Sarah Jones (Greencastle, Ind.) and junior
Lauren Todd (Greenwood, Ind.) took sixth and seventh, respectively in the 3,000-meter run.
In the field events, senior
Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) registered a first place finish in the shot put with a toss of 13.06 meters. She also took sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 12.74 meters.
Boles took third in the pole vault with a height of 2.55 meters, while Martin took fifth in the long jump with a leap of 4.58 meters.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, Feb. 17 when they compete as part of the Friday Night Spikes meet hosted by Rose-Hulman.
