TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior
Zaleeya Martin (Shelbyville, Ind.) set the school record in the 60-meter dash to lead Hanover in their final tune-up at Rose-Hulman on Friday evening.
The Panthers finished third in the six team field.
Martin claimed the top spot in the event with a record-breaking time of 7.79. seconds. The time breaks her previous record of 7.82 seconds set a season ago.
The senior also took first in the long jump with a leap of 4.94 meters.
Junior
Natalie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) captured a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdles as she won the race in a time of 10.00 seconds.
In the pole vault, junior
Ally McGuire (Guilford, Ind.) claimed the top spot with a height of 2.60 meters. Teammate, junior
Aliza Boles (Lexington, Ind.) took second with a vault of 2.30 meters.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Day, McGuire, sophomore
Emma Litzelman (Plainfield, Ind.), and Martin tallied a second place finish with a time of 1:54.45.
In the one mile run, freshman
Sarah Jones (Greencastle, Ind.) turned in a podium finish as she registered a third place mark with a time of 5:52.04.
Senior
Lydia Lupinski (Zionsville, Ind.) found success in the weight throw taking third with a distance of 12.88 meters.
Sophomore
Hanna Whitney (Huntington, Ind.) took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.85 while teammate Litzelman took fifth in a time of 2:35.93.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 25 when they compete as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Mount St. Joseph.
