GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Panther women's track and field team competed as part of the Division III Indiana Championships finishing third overall in the eight team field.
Senior
Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) led the Panthers claiming first place in the discus throw with a meet record toss of 42.24 meters. She also added a first place mark in the shot put with a toss of 13.34 meters. The senior rounded out the meet with a fourth place mark in both the hammer throw and the javelin.
Sophomore
Jessie Stenger (Brookville, Ind.) found success in the shot put taking second with a throw of 13.29 meters while also capturing a runner-up mark in the discus throw with a distance of 40.80 meters.
In the 1,500-meter run, junior
Amberleigh Sorensen (Yorktown, Ind.) captured second with a race finishing time of 4:53.13.
Senior
Zaleeya Martin (Indianapolis, Ind.) turned in a strong finish as part of the 100-meter dash finishing second in a time of 12.40 seconds. She also captured a fourth place mark in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.44 seconds. The senior turned in a fifth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.66 meters.
Freshman
Sarah Jones (Greencastle, Ind.) posted a third place mark in the 5,000-meter run crossing the finish line in a time of 19:37.07.
The 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore
Nina Jazdzewski (Paris, Ky.), junior
Natalie Day 9Sellersburg, Ind.), junior
Ally McGuire (Guilford, Ind.), and Martin claimed a podium finish taking third in a time of 52.38 seconds.
In the pole vault, Jazdzewski finished fourth with a vault of 3.00 meters while teammate junior
Aliza Boles (Lexington, Ind.) took sixth with a height of 2.85 meters.
Senior
Lydia Lupinski (Zionsville, Ind.) displayed success in the hammer throw taking fourth with a throw of 41.09 meters while teammate Day captured fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.72.
The high jump saw junior
Kennadi Lakins (Crothersville, Ind.) finish fifth with a jump of 1.39 meters.
Day rounded out her afternoon with a fifth place mark in the 100-meter hurdles.
The 4x400-meter relay team turned in a fourth place finish in a time of 4:33.37.
The Panthers return to action on Friday, April 21 for one final tune-up as they compete as part of the Friday Night Spikes meet hosted by Rose-Hulman.
