FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Hanover men's track and field team turned in a fourth place mark with 72 points as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Franklin College.
Rose-Hulman claimed the team title with 185 points while Manchester took second with 157 points.
Leading the way for the Panthers was senior
Nick Stroud (Leavenworth, Ind.) as he was crowned an HCAC Champion in the discus throw with an event winning toss of 47.40 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay team of junior
Jamyes Evans (Thomson, Ga.), freshman
Anthony Lloyd (Columbus, Ind.), sophomore
Erik Perkins (Lawrenceburg, Ind.), and senior
Torion'Ja Forrest (Peru, Ind.) also earned all-conference honors finishing second in a time of 3:27.17.
The Panthers displayed great success in the shot put as senior
Jake Kehoe (Lagrange, Ky.) claimed third with a distance of 15.01 meters while teammate Stroud took fourth with a toss of 14.43 meters.
Perkins also teamed up with up Lloyd, freshman
Layden Adair (Indianapolis, Ind.), and Forrest in the 4x100-meter relay taking fourth with a time of 43.04 seconds.
In the 110-meter hurdles, sophomore
Will Simpson (Jeffersonville, Ind.) finished fifth in a time of 17.62 seconds.
Freshman
Conner Watson (Greenwood, Ind.) found success in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he took fifth in a time of 10:00.95 while also taking fifth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:38.02.
Llyod rounded out his impressive afternoon taking fifth in the 100-meter with a time of 11.04 seconds while also finishing fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.80 meters.
