LA CROSSE, Wis. – Hanover College junior
Tommy Wilmoth added another chapter to his record-breaking 2026 campaign on Friday afternoon, claiming his second NCAA Division III All-American honor of the year with a fourth place finish in the men's shot put at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The finish comes after Wilmoth also earned All-American honors during the indoor season, placing fifth nationally in the shot put at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
Competing against the top throwers in Division III, Wilmoth delivered a strong opening mark of 17.58 meters on his first attempt, immediately vaulting into first place in the early standings and setting the tone for the competition.
After a brief dip on his second throw at 15.89 meters, Wilmoth responded with another clutch effort on his third attempt, throwing a toss of 16.72 meters
. He propelled himself into fourth place with his final attempt of 17.86 meters.
His sixth throw of the afternoon was his best of the weekend, earning him fourth overall in the nation and another place on the All-American podium.
