CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Hanover women's track and field team hit the road for the Huntsman Family Invite hosted by Wabash on Saturday afternoon.
Leading the charge for the Blue and Red was sophomore
Nina Jazdzewski (Paris, Ky.) winning the pole vault with a clearing height of 3.20 meters. Teammate, junior
Ally McGuire (Guilford, Ind.) turned in a fourth place mark with a leap of 2.75 meters.
In the discus throw, the Panthers captured the top three spots as senior
Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) won the event with a distance of 42.30 meters. Sophomore
Jessie Stenger (Brookville, Ind.) finished second with a toss of 41.10 meters while senior
Lydia Lupinski (Zionsville, Ind.) finished third with a throw of 36.98 meters.
Stenger picked up a first place nod in the shot put with a distance of 13.04 meters while Beckman finished fourth with a toss of 12.17 meters.
Senior
Zaleeya Martin (Shelbyville, Ind.) turned in a second place finish in the 100-meter dash crossing the finish line in a time of 12.67 seconds. Martin also turned in a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.69 seconds.
In the 400-meter hurdles, junior
Natalie Day (Sellersburg, Ind.) posted a podium finish taking third in a time of 1:11.19.
Lupinski took third in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.34 meters while Stenger finished sixth.
Freshman
Callie Swegman (Columbus, Ind.) turned in a third place mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:39.90 while freshman
Adair Dooley (Crestview Hills, Ky.) finished seventh in the event.
Junior
Kennadi Lakins (Crothersville, Ind. )found success in the field as she took fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.40 meters while also finishing fifth in the long jump with a distance of 4.41 meters. Teammate, junior
Lili Seals (Paoli, Ind.) registered a seventh place mark in the event.
The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore
Emma Litzelman (Plainfield, Ind.), Day, Dooley, and junior
Amberleigh Sorensen (Yorktown, Ind.) captured fourth in a time of 4:45.99.
Sorensen found success in the 5,000-meter run taking sixth with a time of 18:42.97.
In the 800-meter run, Litzelman finished fifth in a time of 2:34.80.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 15 when they compete as part of the Indiana Division III Championship hosted by DePauw.
