BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior
Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) and sophomore
Jessie Stenger (Brookville, Ind.) propelled themselves into the national rankings over the weekend after strong finishes at the Billy Hayes Invitational.
Beckman has a solid grip on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in the discus throw after a school record throw of 45.74 meters landed her eighth among NCAA qualifiers. The senior also competed in the shot put with a mark of 12.52 meters.
Teammate, Stenger sling shotted herself to a top 10 NCAA ranking in the shot put after a school record toss of 14.26 meters. She currently ranks ninth nationally.
On the men's side, senior
Nick Stroud (Leavenworth, Ind.) also competed as part of the meet taking 11
th in the discus with a throw of 45.25 meters. He also competed as part of the hammer throw finishing fifth with a throw of 51.23 meters.
Rounding out the meet was senior
Jake Kehoe (Lagrange, Ky.) who took ninth in the shot put with a distance of 15.11 meters.
