Perry inducted into Indiana Football Hall of Fame

HANOVER, Ind. – Former Hanover College football coach Wayne Perry was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame over the weekend during a celebration held at the North Side Events and Social Club in Indianapolis.
 
Perry led the Panthers as head coach from 1982-2007, winning an Indiana collegiate-record 174 games. During his tenure, he won eight conference championships and made nine national playoffs.
 
Perry was named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics District 21 Coach of the Year seven times while also being named the league Coach of the Year on six separate occasions.
 
He became the winningest coach in Indiana collegiate football in 2005 when the Panthers defeated the Lions of Mount St. Joseph 41-35. Perry surpassed Butler University legend Tony Hinkle.
