Box Score 2 HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers posted a 1-1 week as they knocked off Berea 7-0 before falling to non-conference foe Wittenberg, 8-1.
BEREA CONTEST
Hanover dominated the contest with Berea from the opening serve as they swept doubles action 3-0. Leading the Panthers in doubles play was the no. 1 doubles team of senior
Rachel Pinnick (Franklin, Ind.) and senior
Isabelle Roberts (Brownsburg, Ind.) taking the set 8-1.
In singles action, Pinnick claimed a straight set win 6-0, 6-0 at no. 1 singles before Roberts also turned in a straight set victory at no. 2 singles.
Sophomore
Alyssa Moore(Charleston, Ind.) claimed a key tie breaker set at no. 5 singles as she dropped the first set 4-6 before taking set 2 6-2 and the tie breaker.
WITTENBERG MATCH-UP
The Panthers concluded the week taking on the Tigers of Wittenberg falling 8-1.
The lone Hanover win came at no. 3 singles as Roberts claimed an impressive tie break set win. She claimed set one 6-2 before surrendering set two 6-4. The tie breaker set saw her hang on for the 10-3 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 2 when they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Manchester.
