Box Score 2 MANCHESTER, Ind. – Hanover (5-16 overall, 0-2 HCAC) surrendered the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opening tilt to the Spartans of Manchester. Hanover fell in extras in game one 5-4 before dropping game two 8-2.
GAME ONE

Junior Lauren Beman (Indianapolis, Ind.) went the distance for Hanover pitching eight innings with two earned runs on 11 hits. She added two strikeouts.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Panthers claimed the 1-0 lead in the second inning as freshman
Haley Kiefner (Indianapolis, Ind.) singled to right center scoring junior
Mal Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.), 1-0.
Hanover added two runs in the top of the fourth inning getting an RBI from Fultz and a RBI triple by Kiefner, 3-0.
Despite the early difference, the Spartans remained poised using a four run fourth inning to flip the script in their favor, 4-3.
The Panthers responded in the next half inning off the bat of freshman
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.) and a double down the line, 4-4.
But Manchester was able to complete the comeback in extra innings, capturing the game one in win 5-4.
GAME TWO

Freshman
Rylin Huddleston (Seymour, Ind.) got the start pitching four and two third innings allowing just two earned runs.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Spartans scored first using a single to left field in the first inning for the 1-0 advantage.
They extended their lead in the second inning plating two runs on one for the 3-0 difference.
The Spartans led 4-0 when Hanover threatened in the sixth inning. The Panthers were able to score two runs with Bearman collecting the RBI. But the surge wasn't enough as Manchester held off the Panthers.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 6 when they celebrate Alumni Day welcoming Mt. St. Joseph.
