Box Score 2 FRANKLIN, Ind. – Hanover (7-21 overall, 2-6 HCAC) got swept by the Grizzlies of Franklin on Sunday afternoon dropping game one 8-4 before falling in a late game push 8-7.
GAME ONE
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) got the call pitching five complete innings with four strikeouts.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Hanover scored first in the top of the first inning as freshman
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.) collected the RBI, 1-0.
However, Franklin responded in the bottom half of the inning tying the score 1-1.
The second inning saw the Blue and Red reclaim the lead off a Beaman home run.
But the rest was all Franklin as the Grizzlies used a five run sixth inning to secure the win.
GAME TWO
IN THE CRICLE
Freshman
Rylin Huddleston (Seymour, Ind.) got the call to the circle pitching six complete innings with one strikeout.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Panthers jumped on the scoreboard first plating three runs in the top of the first inning. Harmless led the surge as she hit a home run to left field, 3-0.
But once again Franklin responded scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning and three runs in the bottom of the second inning for the 6-3 difference.
Hanover slowly chipped at the deficit scoring one run in the fifth inning following a Harmless sacrifice fly.
The Blue and Red captured the lead in the sixth inning as they scored three runs off a freshman
Olivia Planck (Lexington, Ky.) RBI, 7-6.
Franklin would get the final say in the seventh inning as they were able to plate two runs for the win.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 20 when they host Defiance. Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
