AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Hanover baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Milwaukee School of Engineering as the Panthers fell 4-2 in the first game and 3-0 in the night cap Tuesday afternoon. 

With the losses, Hanover falls to 2-2 on the year, while the Raiders improved to 2-3 in the early going.

Game one was scoreless until the top of the fourth when MSOE touched up junior pitcher David Blanco (Fishers, Ind.) for four runs on a pair of two-run singles. 

The Panthers fought back in the fifth. Junior Josh Meszaros (Loveland, Ohio) singled to start the inning. Junior Sam Orem (Greenwood, Ind.) was then hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. A sacrifice bunt attempt by junior David Herrmann (Fishers, Ind.) was thrown down the left field line allowing Meszaros to score from second.

Two hitters later, with Herrmann on third, sophomore Spencer Coop (Lexington, Ky.) hit a line drive to right-center field that was caught, but Herrmann was able to score on the sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 4-2. 

Hanover got a runner to second in the sixth, but were unable to score him and went down in order in the seventh to drop its first game of the season. 

Blanco took the loss. In 3.1 innings, he allowed four runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.  

The Raiders took an early lead in game two with a run on three hits and a walk in the first inning. MSOE added another run in the third and then scored its final tally of the game in the sixth. 

Freshman Grant Larimore (LaGrange, Ky.) suffered the loss in his first start. Larimore allowed two runs on seven hits over four innings with three walks and two strikeouts. 

Meszaros was the only player to record multiple hits for Hanover as the junior had a pair of singles in six at-bats. 

The Panthers will be back in action Wednesday, Feb. 27 when they play Lyndon State (Vt.). Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. in Auburndale, Fla.
