Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers welcomed Franklin on Friday afternoon for a weekend series that saw the Panthers rally in the seventh inning for the 9-6 victory.
Franklin used an aggressive first inning as they plated four runs on two hits for the 4-0 advantage.
The Panthers responded in the bottom half of the inning as junior
Charlie Burton (Columbus, Ind.) hit a sacrifice fly to right field before a freshman
Alex Christie (Greenwood, Ind.) RBI to shortstop scored senior
Zeke Porta (Louisville, Ky.) cutting the difference to 4-1.
Franklin pushed the lead back to four runs in the top of the third inning as another Grizzly homerun saw FC claim the 5-1 lead.
However, Hanover tacked on two runs in the bottom of the third inning as Christie got hit by a pitch scoring sophomore

Jacob Dupps (Louisville, Ky.) hit a pop up to the first baseman that allowed Porta to cross home plate, 5-3.
Burton dealt clutch in the bottom of the seventh inning as he provided a two RBI single to left center scoring two Panther runners. Hanover added another run in the inning as Christie singled to center field to give HC their first lead of the contest, 6-5. Hanover tacked on three more runs in the inning en route to the 9-5 advantage.
Franklin got one run back in the top of the eighth inning as they connected for a solo shot to right field but were unable to complete the comeback as Hanover won the contest 9-6.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, May 8 when they celebrate Senior Day with Franklin College. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
