Bluffton, OH - The Hanover College Panthers women's soccer team hit the road this weekend to take on the Bluffton University Beavers in their fourth HCAC match-up of the season. HC entered the contest off a 1-2 loss at home against the MSJ Lions, sitting 3-6-2 (1-2-0) before today's match-up.
The Panthers dominated both halves of play with relentless offensive pressure and consistency in their ability to string together passes. Hanover lead Bluffton in shots 25 to 5, with 16 of 25 landing on frame. Hanover also accumulated 5 attempts from the corners, and tallied 2 goals in each half.
HC was anchored defensively by the combined efforts of senior goalkeeper
Emma Patterson (seventy-two minutes, 2 saves) , sophomore back Lillian Muhlenkamp (seventy-seven minutes), senior back
Erin Terry (seventy-nine minutes), and freshman back
Anna Black (eighty-two minutes).
Hanover's scoring production was as consistent as any part of their game today, starting with junior midfielders
Kaleigh Schirmer and
Cam Horsley connecting for the 1-0 score in the twenty-third minute. HC struck again with under ten left to go in the first half when junior forward
Ally Byrd connected with sophomore midfielder
Maddi Mosby to put the Panthers up 2-0.

Cam Horsley kept her teams momentum rolling immediately out of the break, scoring unassisted within the first thirty-seconds of the second-half. The final Panther goal came in the seventy-second minute behind an assist from (the playmaker of the game)

HC went on to win 4-0, drawing an even .500 HCAC record of 2-2 ahead of their next home game against Berea College. The Panthers and the Mountaineers are set to kick-off on Wednesday at 5:00PM EST.
