David Newbanks (New Albany, Ind.) pinch hit in the bottom of the eighth inning connecting on a sacrifice fly RBI before senior
Sam Perkins (Louisville, Ky.) tied the contest with a RBI to right field. Senior
Jake Danneman (Edgewood, Ky.) gave the Blue and Red their first lead later in the inning with what became a game-winning RBI single to left, 5-4.
ON THE MOUND
Junior
John Girard (Richmond, Ky.) got the start for Hanover, throwing eight innings with four strikeouts. Simpson claimed the save, pitching one inning of relief.Â
GAME TWO
AT THE PLATE
Much like game one, the Spartans surged ahead 2-0 plating a run in the first inning and one run in the fifth inning.Â
Hanover tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as sophomore
Ben Morwick (New Palestine, Ind.) collected an RBI single to right field, 2-2.Â
Manchester got the final say, plating the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning, 3-2.
