BEREA, Ky. – The Panthers finished third overall in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, paced by freshman
Brandon Bensouda who was named the HCC Newcomer of the Year as well as the Sprinter of the Year..
ON THE TRACK
Freshman
Brandon Bensouda dominated the track, claiming the top qualifying time in the 100-meter dash with a HCAC and school record time of 10.54 seconds. He went on to win the event with a time of 10.76 seconds. The freshman also claimed the top qualifying time in the 200-meter dash with a school record time of 21.85 seconds, winning the event with a record time of 21.84 seconds.
In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore
Grady Shay qualified first with a time of 59.95 seconds, finishing first overall in the finals with a time of 56.46 seconds.
The 4x100-meter team took the top spot with a meet winning time of 42.13 seconds.
Junior
Conner Watson claimed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in a time of 9:37.78. He took fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:13.70.
In the 400-meter run, sophomore
Jayden Enderle advanced to the finals with a personal best time and qualifying time of 51.24 seconds. He finished eighth overall in the finals.
IN THE FIELD
Sophomore
Tommy Wilmoth captured the top spot in the shot put with a throw of 15.19 meters. He also finished fourth in the discus throw with a toss of 40.53 meters.
Sophomore
Sean Woods posted a podium finish in the pole vault with a second place mark and a height of 4.42 meters.
