CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced Friday afternoon, following the announcement of the cancellation of Saturday's football contest at Anderson, that the Hanover Panther have been crowned the league's Spring 2021 Regular Season Champions.
The Panthers claim their third straight title after posting a perfect 4-0 mark.
Prior to the season, the HCAC administration and coaches agreed to recognize a conference champion following the completion of the season, requiring that a team play at least 50 percent of its schedule.
Hanover opened the season with a 56-12 road victory at Defiance College ahead of taking care of business at home. The Panthers ran past Bluffton in their home opener 51-44, before claiming a huge win over Rose-Hulman on a last second field goal, 27-24.
Hanover closed out the season with the 90
th annual Victory Bell Game that saw the Blue and Red capture their third straight title in convincing fashion, 56-21.
